The theme letter for our travel pics this week is again V, for Vietnam.
The Mekong Delta – for a generation of westerners, the very words conjure up visions of intrigue, and danger – and of beauty and excitement, and a dozen other emotions mixed together.
For the tourist in Vietnam, the Mekong Delta is normally visited as part of a day-trip from Ho Chi Minh city, or the former Saigon.
This particular stretch of the Mekong is at the town of Cai Be – home to one of the most-visited floating markets, as you can see by the market boats on the right
The Catholic church in the background, built in the early 1930s, contrasts with the colourful boats that are home, shop and transport all rolled into one.
