Travel Pics Theme: U for Under

Southbank Bouganvillea In Bloom

Southbank Bouganvillea In Bloom

The theme letter for our ‪‎travel pics this week is U, for Under.

Today, we are Under an Autumn Sky – in Brisbane, Australia, at Southbank.

This bougainvillea arbour always reminds me of a dinosaur skeleton, and runs for about a kilometre along Southbank, connecting the Cultural Centre at one end and the Maritime Museum at the other.

Much of its route is over a former small canal – filled in during the drought of the 1990s.

It’s quite pretty all year round, and a lovely relaxing walk – but in Autumn, when the purple bracts are in full bloom, it is stunning.
