As a travel blogger / writer, I follow lots and lots of other travel bloggers and writers.
And I noticed today that many of them regularly post pics of food. As do I.
That prompted me to take a quick look at the number of food pictures we have from our travels.
And particularly of street food.
So here’s a sample.
We’ll start in Heyward, California , where we first came across the wonder that is a food truck convoy …
Then there was Nachos, across the bay in San Francisco itself …
If that looks hideous, it can be matched by the “New York style Hot Dog” I bought in Las Vegas …
Of course, I didn’t need to travel that far. Here in my home town of Brisbane, I sampled the “Cajun Fries” at a street stall ..
It came from another convoy of food trucks, who set up in a pub car-park every few weeks …
Further afield, we sampled dishes at beachside warungs in Kuta ..
At hawkers markets in Singapore ..
At roadside mixed venues near Nusa Dua ..
And even at a food ‘van’ on a trike in Phuket ..
But the freshest, no doubt, was the coconut straight from the tree at Pigeon Island, Saint Lucia …
Actually, looking at all these pics (and these are just a random sample of street food pics we’ve taken – not counting the restaurants, cafes and buffets), I guess there’s really no reason to wonder why I weigh what I do. The wonder is that I don’t weigh even more 🙂
