The theme for our travel pics this week is C for Churches.
Today, it’s St John’s Anglican Cathedral, in Napier, NZ.
Unlike many of the churches in this series, this one isn’t ancient – in fact, it’s hardly even historic. It was built in the art deco style – as befits a church which replaces one destroyed by the 1931 Hawkes Bay earthquake. (For a discussion of Napier, and its Art Deco heritage, see my earlier blog-post …)
Oh – and’s full and formal name?
The Waiapu Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist, Napier. Now there’s a mouthful!
