This week, our travel-pic theme is X for Xerox – black-and-white reproductions of some pics we’ve taken around the world.
Today’s a dark and foreboding Stonehenge.
The stone structure is one of the most famous sights in England, has prompted entire belief-structures based on its supposed ancient wisdom and astronomical expertise.
But unfortunately, its almost certain that most of the theories about what ancient druids did at Stonehenge are bollocks.
That doesn’t mean that its not an imposing sight, however – with its five thousand years of history and mystery.
And today’s picture with the sun peeking past the clouds above the Salisbury Plain helps reinforce that awe.
Of the times we have been to the UK, never been to Stonehenge! Whether the astronomical rituals attributed are accurate or not, they sure arranged them to impress!
