The theme for our travel pics this week is J, for Jungles (and rainforests) – and for Wednesday, it’s Martinique, in the sunny Caribbean sea.
An island in the Lesser Antilles, this is a French Overseas Department – meaning that is is a little slice of France, and locals are French citizens with the same rights as those in Metropolitan Paris.
But I bet their Parisian cousins don’t get this view!
Being smack bang in the middle of the tropics, Martinique’s rainforests are lush, green, and evident everywhere you go -despite 900 years of Human settlement, 400 of which has involved Europeans.
