The theme for our travel pics this week is K for Kotor – and for Friday, it’s the Franciscan Church of St Clara, in old Kotor town.
Many of the churches in the region are, of course, Orthodox churches – but in Kotor stands St Clara’s, a church built by (and for) the Franciscan monks in the 14th century.
The monastery, and its associated chapel, have been rebuilt many times – the most recent was in the 17th century.
Perhaps the most interesting feature of the church is this stunning Baroque altar, the work of Venetian sculptor Francesco Cabianca in the early 1700s.
Nice post
