The theme letter for our travel pics this week is S, for Singapore.
For Thursday, it’s the first of two pictures from the Gardens By The Bay complex – this one, from the ‘Flower Dome’
The complex was launched in 2005, and takes in 100 hectares, in three separate sections .. and was supposed to change Singapore from a ‘Garden City’ (ie a city with lots of gardens) to ‘A City in a Garden’.
The Flower Dome has a mild, dry microclimate and features plants found in the Mediterranean and other semi-arid tropical regions.. it’s nearly metres tall and maintains a temperature between 23 °C and 25 °C.
The Flower Dome features seven different “gardens” as well as an olive grove with a bistro and a central changing display field has also been incorporated to enable flower shows and displays to be held within the conservatory.
Oh, Gardens by the Bay! Last time I went was October 2015. Thanks for featuring.
