The theme letter for our travel pics this week is W, for Worldmark.
Shirley and I are owners at Worldmark – a sort of time-share holiday group with properties in North America, Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, and now Indonesia.
One of those properties is Denarau Island, in Nadi, Fiji.
Nadi, by the way, is pronounced Nandi – like many South Pacific languages, there are some unique quirks with pronunciation.
So when you see a ‘d’ in Fiji, its pronounced ‘nd’, and when you see a ‘b’ is pronounced ‘mb’, and ‘q’ is pronounced ‘ng’ … it’s a bit confusing 🙂
But then you see glorious scenes like the sun over the water, taken from just beside the main pool at Worldmark Fiji, and all the confusion, and stress, and worry just …. floats away 🙂
Denarau, by the way, is an interesting Worldmark resort .. Mostly, Worldmark resorts are divided into one of two types: Worldmark, The Club (owned by North American Worldmark owners) and Worldmark South Pacific (Owned by Aussie and Kiwi owners)
But Denarau is both – most units are WorldmarkSP – but some are WMTC units.
From a practical point of view, there’s little difference – but I just thought I’d mention it 🙂
