The theme for our travel pics this week is K for Kotor – and for Wednesday, its the waterfront at Perast, on Kotor Bay a few kilometres from Kotor itself.
The city has sixteen Baroque palaces, two Orthodox churches, and seventeen Catholic ones including St Nicholas’ – seen here – which has the highest campanile, or bell tower, on the eastern coast of the Adriatic.
It cost locals 50,000 gold coins, or about 200 kilos of gold to get it built.
